In the week of May 19, we organized our second Turkish Hand-made arts and crafts bazaar at MARTI. The event gave us the opportunity to meet new friends who are interested in Turkish culture and even visiting Turkey. We also provided Turkish food to our guests. The event not only served as a milestone to introduce Turkish culture but also help to receive some donations for MARTI. |

Turkish Iftar Dinner was held on October 29th, 2005 at Taif (Turkish American Islamic Foundatio) Mosque in Baltimore. Soup, meat, rice, salad, and dessert were served in the iftar dinner after the azan. Almost 100 people attended to iftar dinner, which will become traditional and be held annually. |

The second annual "Traditional Turkish Iftar" was held on Sunday, October 23rd, 2005 in Baltimore. Soup, manti, beans, rice, chicken, salad, and yogurt were served after the azan. After the dinner, Adem Baskaya, who is a Semazen (whirling dervish) instructor in MARTI, gave a speech about the Month of Ramadan. After the speech, Turkish baklava and tea were served. Almost 130 people attended to Second Annual Traditional Turkish Iftar. |

Traditional Neighboor Iftaar was held by our organization. Turkish dishes which were prepared by our members were served after the azan to our American and other friends from other cultures . After the dinner, short information about Month of Ramadan was fiven to our quests. At the end of the night introductory movie about Turkey was watched and our quests gave speeches about Turkey. Program which was almost 3 hours long was ended after Quran recital. |

The second annual traditional iftaar was held at 6:00 pm at Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. Almost 100 guests attended to the program. Among these guests, there are Senator Delores G. Kelley from Maryland Senate, Turkey's honorary ambassador to US Dr. Cenap Kiratli and lots of congressmans. US Senator Barbara A. Mikulski couldn't attend to the program, but her letter of gratitude was read. Program was started with the azan. During the dinner, turkish sufi music was played. Ali Oguz Ustun gave speech about the month of Ramadan. After the speech, introductory movie about Turkey was shown. Program was ended with Quran recital. Introductory CD about Turkey which is prepared by Turkish Ministry of Tourism and Turkish Delight were given to our guests as a gift. Program was almost 3 hours long. |

The second annual Kids Festival of April 23rd was celebrated in Slayton House of Columbia on April 23rd, 2005. The event was organized solely by the Kids Club of MARTI. The president of Kids Club, Ozgun Deniz has given a speech at the beginning of the program and gave information about the history of Kids Festival. The most exciting part of the event was the folk dance performed by the kids who attend the Turkish Classes at MARTI. They performed live Turkish folk dance from the northern region of Turkey. The families attending with their kids had great time and tasted delicious Turkish food at the end of the event. |

Vice President Fatih Kuzu and one of our members Mr. Lutfi On paid a visit to Baltimore County sheriff R. Jay Fisher. They gave brief information about our past activities and future plans. In addition, Turkey and Turkish people were discussed in the meeting which lasted about 45 minutes. After the meeting, Baltimore County sheriff R. Jay Fisher conveyed his pleasure and promised a visit Marti. |
