Marti Baltimore Holds Iftar Dinner at Hilton Pikesville |
MARTI hosted its annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner, on the 2nd of September in Hilton Pikesville. Several distinguished guests including lawmakers from Maryland Senate and House, academicians, and some religious and community leaders attended the Iftar Dinner.
The event started with the opening remark of Senator James Robey emphasizing the importance of tolerance and cross-cultural dialogue. After guests enjoyed their dinner, Delegate Dan Morhaim, Delegate Samuel Rosenberg, Baltimore County Chief of Police James Johnson, Baltimore County Fire Chief John Hohman, and president of Murthy law firm Sheela Murthy took the stage to give a short remark and delivered their messages fostering love and tolerance. As a last speaker, Prof. Pim Valkenberg who is a professor at Loyola College mentioned role of dialogue instutions in all over the world to achieve world peace and praised MARTI’s activities.
The night ended with the beautiful live performance of Water Marbling (Ebru).
