Mustafa Akpinar
Outreach Coordinator
Coordinates community outreach and external collaboration initiatives.
Mustafa works to strengthen relationships between MARTI and community organizations, faith communities, educational institutions, civic leaders, and public officials. He supports community engagement initiatives, develops new partnerships, and helps create opportunities for dialogue, service, and collaboration throughout Maryland.
Mustafa graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a B.S. in Information Systems. He is continuing his education at the University of Maryland, College Park’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he is pursuing an M.S. in Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
His commitment to community service and leadership began during his years as a student. At UMBC, Mustafa founded Blossom Together, a student organization focused on humanitarian service, outreach, and community engagement. He also founded LeadUp, a youth-led initiative at MARTI that empowers high school students through leadership, service, and interfaith engagement. He currently serves as an Alumni Chair of Bridging Paths at UMD, supporting student-led interfaith dialogue and collaboration across diverse cultural and religious communities.
Mustafa also serves on Howard County’s Interfaith Advisory Board for 2026–2027, contributing to efforts that strengthen communication, understanding, and collaboration among the county’s diverse faith communities.
Having been involved with MARTI since his high school years, Mustafa brings a long-standing connection to the organization and a passion for building meaningful relationships across communities. Through his work in outreach, he hopes to expand MARTI’s partnerships, increase its engagement with the broader Maryland community, and create new opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect through service, education, and dialogue.
